What to see in Tabiano and the surrounding areas

Tabiano

If you are looking for a man-made goal, come to the City of Breath! Its thermal baths offers treatments for both respiratory and skin health. The town is embraced by a crown of hills, less than ten minutes’ drive from Salsomaggiore. The breeze that falls in the evening from the small hills of the countryside will take you by surprise - it’s best to cover yourself with a sweater, even in summer evenings. In Tabiano you can enjoy the park's greenery, walking under the porches or along the tree-lined avenues. There are so many places to drink and enjoy good food, and also the campsite’s summer water park - if you have children, this is always a great choice! Just above Tabiano Baths, stands an ancient castle of at least a thousand years; from its terraces, the panoramic view will take your breath away.

Salsomaggiore

The Art Nouveau style of the thermal baths has fascinated tourists from every corner of the world. In addition to the classic treatments, the Berzieri Thermal Baths open the doors to the East Seas, a series of water courses dedicated to wellness and relaxation. In the area around Fontanellato, a 20-minute drive from Tabiano, you can visit the world's largest bamboo labyrinth - it's as big as ten football pitches. Verdi’s Lands

If you love Giuseppe Verdi's lyrics, we recommend that you spend at least a day exploring the places dear to the Maestro’s heart. In the hamlet of Roncole, just a few minutes from Busseto, you can visit his birthplace. At Busseto, we recommend the Teatro Verdi, Palazzo Orlandi (residence of the Maestro during the mid-nineteenth century), and the Giuseppe Verdi National Museum, set up in the premises of Villa Pallavicino. On the border between the provinces of Parma and Piacenza, rises Villa Sant'Agata, the country residence of the Maestro himself.

Castles of the Duchy

Among the provinces of Parma and Piacenza, you can visit the Castles of the Duchy, an itinerary that will let you discover ancient manors, fortresses and enchanting towers. The Tabiano Castle stands on top of a hill, guarding a small medieval village. In the surrounding area, we recommend the castles of Scipione and Vigoleno, the Visconte castle in the romantic village of Castell'Arquato, Bardi castle, Sanvitale Castle in Fontanellato, the Rocca di Soragna and the Ducal Palace of Colorno, a small Versailles at the doors of Parma.

Parma

For a day out among the beauties of art, there’s nowhere better to visit than Parma. Go to Piazza del Duomo to discover the Cathedral and the Baptistery. Always in the historic centre, we recommend the Teatro Regio, the National Gallery and the Teatro Farnese; the Camera di San Paulo and the Monastero di San Giovanni Evangelista house Correggio’s frescoes.
